I've got this shot at Candau-ay, Dumaguete City, where the city's dumpsite is located. When I arrived at the place, this young girl collecting some scraps from the dump caught my attention so as my heart.
What she's doing is not only for herself, but also helping her family to sustain their daily needs. I think she's the youngest among the scavengers who were there that time. I hope someone will notice and do something to help this kind of scarcity. Once I clicked and full viewed it, I got the chills. The elements combined in the photo, the sea of trash, the silhouette of the girl, and that bag with the ironically smiling cook, make this image complete. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
